This kit contains all the accessories you need to successfully perform your rapid tests to detect inhibitors in milk.

This starter kit brings together all the accessories you need to perform your Milkit ATB rapid tests. This kit is to be purchased for the first order. Then, you will only have to obtain the ATB Milkit reactive strips to carry out the tests.

This test can detect residues of the three main families of antibiotics: ?-lactams (penicillin, cephalosporin), tetracyclines and streptomycin.

Why use strips in milk?

Strict measures are put in place to control the quality of the milk. The absence of antibiotics in the milk is checked at each stage.

1) At the farm by the breeder: Antibiotics are used in many farms to treat infections (mastitis for example). Cows on antibiotics will show residues in their milk. Their milk is therefore discarded or collected in a different tank.

2) During milk collection: Each tank is tested for the presence of antibiotic residues before each collection.

3) At the dairy: When the milk arrives at the dairy, each tank is checked before injecting the milk into the dairy circuit.

Each of these tests determines whether the milk contains antibiotic residues or not, until it reaches the final consumer. It is thanks to all these strict standards that milk has become one of the safest consumer products.

The procedure to follow is very simple, all you have to do is:

1) Collect a sample of milk (room temperature) in a clean bottle
2) Add 200?l of milk to the well using the pipette (use a different pipette tip for each sample)
3) Dissolve the reagent contained in the well by aspirating then redistributing the milk several times using the pipette
4) Wait 3 minutes
5) Insert the strip into the well
6) Wait 7 minutes
7) Read the results

This kit contains:

– 1 automatic pipette,

– 1000 yellow cones for pipettes,

– 1 plaque support,

– 100 bottles of milk collection,

– 1 stopwatch.

This kit does not contain:

– Milkit ATB test strips
